Writing first appeared as a consequence of the need to preserve and to pass on information and know-how down through the centuries; it marks off the end of Prehistory and the beginning of History. In the course of a workshop come and learn the various writing techniques put in their context through historical pieces of information. History of writing, writing on clay tablets with a stylus as well as deciphering Roman steles are all part of the programme.
